Music & Eva!

Updated: May 30

I can't remember a time when music was not a part of my life. Even before I started taking music lessons at age eight, one of my favorite pastimes was playing my record player and singing in my room. As I sang along with Olivia Newton-John, Sandi Patti, and Amy Grant, I used my hairbrush as a microphone. I had a door mirror on the back of my bedroom door, where I would practice my facial expressions as I sang.

As I grew into my teens, I wanted to play the organ or piano, but my parents could not afford either, so my musical journey began with the accordion. A couple of years later, Santa Claus delivered my first organ. From there, I never stopped.

Fast-forwarding through many years of music lessons (accordion, piano, organ, and voice) and music studies in college, I received my BA in Liturgical Music and theater. This was quite an accomplishment for me, as I had known I wanted to be in church music from an early age.

After college, I furthered my studies in religion and music and continued to gain experience in my home area. I landed my first full-time church job in the 90s. Since then, I've played/sung in over 100 churches across the United States. It all began in St. Louis and took me to Chicago, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Then in 2010, I returned to my Midwest roots.

While I no longer work full-time in music, I take on new opportunities as my schedule allows. I'm currently preparing to play for a "Christmas in July" tea party, and I'm excited about it!

Some samples of my past endeavors are posted at the bottom of my home page. Enjoy!

As St. Augustine said, "The one who sings prays twice."
